Well, the big "ubers" are Arceus, Ho-oh, Lugia, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Giratina (Origin Forme), Mewtwo, and Rayquaza. All of these pokemon have a 680 base stat spread or higher. I would recommend that these be banned if we want to avoid shenanigans of the highest degree. Other notables that may need banning are recommended here:

I'd be fine with banning every legendary on that list (please note that although Latios is on that list Latias is not, so if you want that banned, speak up). Although, this will leave some people without even token legendaries to fall back on (there will be no ghosts and no dark type legendaries left, for example, only 1 dragon type, 1-2 phychic types, and 1 grass type). Not that that's a huge deal if we're banning all the uber legendaries.

About banning pokemon; unless we're picking a specific tier to play in (which the very mention of makes me wanna shoot myself), then it's pretty much anything goes. The legendaries you use just HAVE TO BE LEGIT. We all know who went to what event and who has what bread, so it's not like no one can tell.

I don't think we're getting so faggoty that we need to start playing like we're real competitive pokemon players; this whole type thing isn't going to be balanced and this isn't gonna be fair, but that wasn't the point of doing it.

So yeah, the Official articles for this non-sense are as follows:

1. Up to six pokemon allowed. (I'm sure if people burn out on the way to it we can just downsize from there on a per person basis)
2. All pokemon on the team must share at least one common type.
3. No duplicates of the same pokemon, all must be unique.
4. No cheating to acquire pokemon or anything, I don't think this is a problem since no one owns an Action Replay anymore really.
5. Maximum of one legendary allowed per team. Must be legit, and if it's an event pokemon, then you must have got it from the REAL event.
6. Level doesn't matter, we'll just be playing over the Wi-Fi battle to equalize levels.
7. This is a friendly slaughter, not a competitive tourney-fag masturbation session, don't be that faggot and use Wobbuffet or Wynaut or any other stupid tactic unless you want me to hurt you.

Other than those rules I think it's anything goes.

I honestly could care less about what the rules for this thing are, but I ask because I really, really want to know what they are before I start building another team. Rule seven is a bit too vague for my liking, but I think I get the idea (no Soul Dew Latios, then).

I agree with the sentiment that this is supposed to be a casual bread between friends. I hope it remains as such, but really, once everyone announced that they were breeding for IVs, it was already too late. It's one heckuva slippery slope.

The general jist of it is that each pokemon has 6 stats, and for those stats the bread assigns the pokemon a number between 0 and 31. The higher the number, the more points in the correlating stat your pokemon will gain as it levels up. By using an IV calculator, you can determine the rough IVs of your pokemon (an exact number would require careful monitoring across a few levels). From there, there are ways to breed pokemon at the day care center such that they are more likely to have high IVs in their respective areas. You'll save yourself a headache if you just skip it, but for the best pokemon, it's the only way to go. EVs also affect your stats. You gain EVs when you defeat enemy pokemon. The more EVs you have in a stat, the higher that stat. However, there is a cap on how many EVs you can have. By fighting only pokemon that give the EVs you want, you can specialize a pokemon to be strong in certain stats.
