| I play WoW. It's the only MMO myself and my friends can agree on. What I don't get is all the hate on WoW. In itself, WoW is well-maintained, populated enough to make it easy to find someone to play with, and it has some well-balanced and rounded classes. (Not to say that they are entirely balanced, they're just more balanced than most games - true balance is impossible) All in all, compare it to everything else out there...
Final Fantasy Online is decent, but you hit a solid wall past level 10 as everything onwards REQUIRES you to gather a party if you want to get anywhere. If you've ever played an MMO, you know that most groups last for one, maybe two or three quests before someone has to go eat dinner causing the entire party to make up similar excuses to get away. Vanguard is great, but it is very complex and difficult to play. It has a nice crafting system, however you could spend an entire month trying to gather the materials to build something decent - at a minimum.
Star Wars Galaxies used to be pretty good until the New Game Enhancements f*cked it up gameplay- and canon-wise. (I thought Jedi were few in number and on the run from the Empire, not so common you're tripping on them and seeing them consorting with the Empire >>) The fire for Everquest died a long, long time ago. Nowadays it's all oldbies who want to stay in contact with old friends.
City of Heroes not only lets you play as a superhero or villain - which is awesome in itself - but allows you a highly customizable appearance to ensure that no two characters look alike - unless you planned it that way. However the power selection is very limited and the missions get repetetive after a while. I can't think of many other games, those seem to be the most popular I can recall. But all in all, my best experiences thus far have been in WoW. Hell, I asked a GM for help and he personally poofed himself over to me to call me an idiot to my face. Now that's customer service. (I was telling him a quest was broken - he showed me otherwise XD)

| Actually, Ashley, I believe you are the one currently at fault. I mean, he could've posted an entirely new thread in the MMO sub-forum (which we are in) but: A) His post did contain WoW info. B) It's not like we use this thread much anyway. C) No one would post in his thread, most likely, considering how rarely we even use the MMO Sub-forum. Besides, it's not like post content has stopped you from posting in different threads before, right? | |

| I was comparing WoW to other games, so I was entirely on topic. If I said nothing about the other games, then I would be spouting my opinion without any foundation, thus dissolving my argument altogether, thus defeating my purpose of posting at all whatsoever - which was to give WoW some fair support.
So there. =P

| Only thing about WoW though... on any and all servers I've played on.... Horde out numbers Alliance 5 - 1... >.<
And alliance people are mentally retarded, and bicker and quarrel among themselves.. though it comforts me to some degree, cause it means there's no way in hell that all Alliance players are little 7 year old kids...
If you play Alliance, you're normally safe from mass ganking for hours on end, until about, 4 o'clock or so, cause then all the kids get home from school... and well, you just need to be in QD to see what I mean.... Or STV.. >.< | |

| Ugh, I can't stand Alliance members. Especially gnomes. Doesn't matter what a fricking gnome is, they're going to kill you. Warlock? DPS Death. Mage? DPS Death. Rogue? DPS Death. Warrior? DPS Death. All of the classes have some sort of DPS means, and they're so hard to click on and target because of their size. Then they always make lewd gestures, and defile your corpse when they kill you. Bastards. >>
However, if you really want to avoid running into children, avoid Night Elves and Blood Elves. Because they're the token elf races - I mean, what kid doesn't want to be Legolas? - every child plays as them, avoiding the "ugly" races. The kids who want to be the "good guys" usually pick night elf, and the kids who want to have good-looking characters are blood elves. It never fails.
First race my little sister picked was Blood Elf, without fail(because of the hair styles). |
