Riddle me this, Riddle me that

Here's how this works. Someone presents a riddle, and the rest must solve it. You only get to guess once, and it is recommended that you guess via your own tuition, rather than Google's. Although I cannot hold you to that, I trust that you'll play along and not spoil the fun with a google search. If nobody can answer the riddle, then the riddler reveals the answer and connives a new riddle. If somebody guesses it right, they become the riddler, and give everyone else a riddle to solve.

So I will begin, with a rather difficult one.

"A man builds a house with all four sides facing north. A bear walks past the house. What color is the bear?"

White.

Wrong.

The answer to this riddle isn't that straightforward.

We don't know, because it's on the other side of a wall.

only in a cartoon/anime could a house have all 4 of its sides facing north....

It is entirely possible to build four walls facing north - in the shape of an actual house. Only one place to build such a house though.

However, that isn't much of a hint to the riddle's answer. The answer is much less obvious than what it seems, and takes some thinking before you realize that something's wrong.

I will wait for another answer or two before I reveal the answer.

I suppose it's time to reveal the answer to this riddle. Let me tell you where you went wrong: you spent the entire time trying to answer the question presented, but never did you try and figure out the riddle.

You see, in order for a house to have four walls facing north, it must be built on the South Pole. Unfortunately, herein lies the problem - there are no bears at the south pole. So there lies the true answer to the riddle.

The answer is that the riddle has no answer. Riddles are almost never straightforward questions - otherwise they'd be called questions to begin with - they're puzzles and mind games. They don't need an answer, just a solution. This one was difficult because this one had no answer; a conclusion you wouldn't come to normally.

I apologize for starting off with a difficult one, I wanted to see if anyone would figure it out. I'll go with a more straightforward riddle for my next one. So riddle me this:

A murderer is condemned to death. He has to choose between three rooms. The first is full of raging fires, the second is full of assassins with loaded guns, and the third is full of lions that haven't eaten in 3 years. Which room is safest for him?

None of the rooms? Because he's going to die no matter what?
