ANIME DETOUR 2009

Alright, so I remember making a thread about this before... but I guess it must have been back before we wiped the entire contents of the forum.

So here we have a thread where we can discuss the upcoming Anime Detour. Who all is going, cosplaying, etc.

Pre-registration:

• $35.00, if postmarked by Dec 31st 2008
  
• $45.00, if postmarked by Feb 28th 2009
  
• $60.00, at the door registration
  

I would just like to point out that the chances of being able to register at the door are virtually zero. Detour fills up pretty dang quick, so if you're planning on going I would suggest on doing it as soon as you can. Hell, do it before December 31st and save yourself $10. ;]


Hotel Info:

Detour is no longer being held at the Ramada by MoA. Starting this year they're holding it at the Crowne Plaza Riverfront Hotel in Saint Paul. Is a pretty dang swanky hotel, and therefor room costs are slightly more. The detour discount rate is $107 a night, which is about $10 more than what they were last year at the Ramada. But if you check out the site for this hotel, then you'll see that its $10 well spent.

Well, theres an anime club at my school that I plan on joining once they start up for the year. I guess they plan on making a club trip to detour, so I had originally planned on putting my registration on hold. [usually groups register together and get group discounts.]

But now my plans have changed a bit. I think I'll be registering as soon as I have the money, because I want to join staff. And in order to be staff, you have to make sure you're registered A.S.A.P.

I guess in order to join staff you just have to start attending staff meetings, and then go talk to the department head of whatever department you want to be a part of. Rin [the head of security] said I should join security because "*cough*securityisfun*cough*"

At first I was just going to sign up to volunteer, but they have the crappy jobs. Staff get the better positions. It requires a bit more commitment, but oh well.

now i will be cosplaying as.... uh...

I seriously need to start figuring out cosplays.
And I need to start seriously trying to lose weight, because then cosplays would LOOK better. I need a job too so that I can pay for said cosplays... ahhhh...
