I know that some experts can look at the skid marks of a car and use that as a measure to determine how fast a vehicle was going at the time, but I'm not sure how common that kind of thing is or if it'd be valid as stand-alone evidence in your case. Besides, as you said, you were doing the proper speed limit (I hope it was a 55 and not a 30 zone =p).
