Wii, 360, or PS3?

we just got a Wii at the nursing home i work at.....
those old folks are hilarious to watch
some off them kick some major ass too.....
but mostly its just us...the nurses that have to explain and we all end up playing....
its quite distracting...

And DDR wasn't on any console but Playstation for a while as well. Konami has stated numerous times that the reason why there hasn't been news on a PS3 DDR yet is because the PS2 is still going strong, and until either Sony abandons it like the other gaming companies have their last-gen systems or the PS3 suddenly loses its backward compatibility, then there won't be a PS3 DDR for a while. They wouldn't abandon the core media in which DDR has been prevalent for long time so quickly unless forced. However there have been a few rumors in EGM and GP about Konami already testing out a possible PS3 version of DDR Ultimate aka the DDR with every song ever on DDR.

Lol, N64 was a horrible system that just showcased Nintendo's arrogance to attempt and fail at proving that they can be different then everyone else and somehow this also makes them better than them as well.

You know normally I stay out of these kinds of topics simply because of the fact that if we had the money, we would get all the systems, so there's no point in arguing over which is better because no matter what some fanboi will come in and troll about how R0X0rS his system is and yours sucks. But I'm bored so here goes.

I can say without bias PS3 is the best out of the current seventh generation of the home console systems. Yeah I know I have a PS3, but I didn't even get one until last December, and there was a reason for that, I research this stuff, I don't go waste my money on something that expensive just because everyone else has it or it looks good or it's cheap, or it has Halo.

Reasons follow in accordance with the posting guidelines (that video was hilarious btw):

PS3 vs XBOX 360
1. Starting from the beginning, Microsoft saw their defeat of the original XBox at the hands of the PS2 early on and wondered how they could change things this time. So those ever so clever Microsoft execs poured over the history of Sony's console releases, and simply copied their strategy. So Microsoft pushed forth the half-baked Xbox 360 a holiday season early and hyped it on MTV. the plan went off without a hitch, Microsoft had an early lead, and a popularity boon with key audiences, the same things that led the PS1 and 2 to success.
2. But, not everything went so well, once again the Xbox hardware was based off of computer hardware and the time the had lost by releasing it early hurt the 360 in quality. Returns abounded during the early phases of XBox 360 and the now infamous Redring developed out of the haste of Microsoft even though internal documents later showed that these issues may have been well-known, however haughty execs pushed the release date anyway.
3. So yeah enough history, we want facts!
4. XBox has Redring Ps3 doesn't. In fact, there have been almost zero hardware quality problems with the PS3, which is saying something if you ever owned early PS1's and 2's.
5. PS3 has built in wireless, XBox users are stuck struggling with third party hardware that costs a bundle and sucks nuggets. This is a big issue when many polls indicate a majority of next-gen console owners connect to the internet wirelessly.
6. The Xbox has four different models all of different price, three of them are current and the price differences are paid in spades by the features offered, meanwhile the features on the PS3 models stay largely the same, and still have more to offer in connectivity compared to the Elite model of XBox 360.
7. The XBox controllers use a very common signal of 2.4 Ghz, PS3 controller's use bluetooth, and while connection problems abound with XBox, there is no problems with Ps3 controllers.
8. The Xbox is extremely restricted, in fact to simply transfer over data from your original Xbox, you need a special cord, that was originally only available in the Elite package. The Ps3 is extremely open, got a USB drive? Got data you wanna put on your PS3? Go for it. Meanwhile, you can't even get music on your XBox without ripping it from CD.
9. In order to play on someone else's saved games, you have to basically have their hard drive, and if anyone has swapped hard drives before, you know how fun that is to try to get to work. Meanwhile, the PS3 is open and can have save games from anywhere, no ridiculous hardware swapping.
10. The XBox hard drive is small, custom made and expensive to replace. The PS3 has a standard 2.5" hard drive bay, that can be replace by any fitting drive (most laptop drives are 2.5").
11. You have to pay to even get online and do anything with the XBox, even download updates. Considering when the companies that make the game you'd be playing online own and operate the games' servers, and you're not paying them but rather Microsoft for XBox live access, the whole system makes no sense, what exactly are you paying for? Meanwhile PS3 online usage is free and has no strings attached.
12. Did I mention the PS3 has a internet browser and the XBox doesn't?
13. The PS3 is a certified 2.0 Blu-ray live player, and that's an amazing value, comparing it with standalone players. XBox is stuck in the mud with DVD's still.
14. You can even put linux on PS3, yes I know you can put linux on anything, including XBox, but PS3 support is native to the generic linux kernel, no custom stuff needed.
15. Ps3 has more power than the XBox, sure their GPU's are just about matched, but when you add in that the Ps3's processor can output graphics as well, the Xbox gets owned.
16. Whats this about Ps3 having a small selection? There are about 140 games released already, and that number is growing.
17. Did I mention Redring?
18. PS3 can play both PS1 and (except one model) PS2 games. Xbox 360 has a a few Xbox games that are backward compatible.

I probably would have gone with the PS3 anyway. It was the only system I hadn't heard any negative feedback on. Or anything at all - that's why I was hesitant to say much about it - because I know nothing about it to begin with.

...that is ALMOST enough of a reason to get me to buy a goddamn PS3.

Pfft. The cut scenes in that game are so fricking long. I swear, I watched my friend play it and nearly fell asleep. You watch the damn game more often than you play it.

Yes, I know. The beginning is like that.
In almost every Metal Gear Solid game.

That's one of the reasons I like the series.
The cutscenes to me, are exciting.
I love the story lines.

At least in Metal Gear Solid, there is some element of real game play.

It revolutionized the stealth-infiltration genre.
It IS the genre.

Dude, none of you have ever played any of the Xeno series games! Two hour long cinemas!!! I'm not even kidding, they even prompted you to save in the middle of it in case you had to go do something else.
But I like those kind of games oddly enough, they bring me back to the old Japanese themed days of old when you actually had to read basically a 1000 page script in a game.

You know what, I was going to do the rest of PS3 vs 360 and PS3 vs. Wii, and even a 360 vs. Wii, but I no longer see the point.
