| They haven't collided anything yet, they just sure it could contain a run around the like, 2.7 kilometer track it has.
>_>; I hate this topic, by the way.
Because people are stupid.

Because people are stupid. That' why I love it, and of course they haven't smashed anything yet, but those ten trillion volts running around sure made my day. :D

| Meh, If we die we die. Not like I had my future planned on paper or something. Just gotta check off a few things before I die. They got a set date on when they plan on shooting anything out of it? Do I still have time to bungee jump? | |

| Dude does no one remember how we had this conversation months ago?
Though I think even worse than an actual black hole would be having "Black Hole Sun" stuck on repeat; am I right Marshtomp?

| Goddamn, Xander. I would definitely pick a real black hole, which by the time that it actually absorbed anything, our sun would've exploded, then listen to that song ten times in a row. | |

| So yeah I forgot to put this up like the seven days ago this happened, but I'll do it now!
So back on the 19th they were doing a mock run without the beam or particles, just electrical current, in the final sector and they discovered that there had been a large helium coolant leak. Investigations show there was a faulty electrical connection between two magnets there and it melted during the test run.
The repairs would normally take a few days, but unfortunately the LHC is one giant superconductor and runs at ridiculously low temperatures, and thus they must wait until the sector warms back up to fix it.
The LHC will be down for at least two months. So put off your doomsday party plans a little.
