| Well, considering it's what most of us play the most at this point as far as TCGs go, I figured it was about time we got a magic thread. Justin, I want your Student of Warfare Also, Scars is gonna be ridiculous, I was just thinking of the absurdity of Infect and Proliferate... | |

| Ya, this bread is one of the most confusing out there if you actually read the comprehensive rulebook, or have people start abusing the stack on you. The more I've played this bread recently, the more I've had to look up the official rulebook for the dictionary definition of what goes where, why, and how. For a rules geek like me, lots of fun; for other people...not so much. The core concept isn't that hard though. Once you get understand the general rules (how to pay for spells, when you can play them, how attacking/blocking works) the rest is just following the text on the cards.
As an aside, here's my current wishlist:
Argentum Armor (at least 2) Stoneforge Mystic (x4) Kor Outfitter (x4) Basilisk Collar (1-2) Sword of Vengeance (x1) Sword of Body and Mind (x1) Quest for the Holy Relic (x2)
It should pretty explanatory what I'm doing here if you know these cards =p

If you check your own posts, you'll see that the word "bread" is the end result of a word filter that Justin decided would be funny. 95% of the time, when you see the word "bread" on these forums, it really means g4me, where "4" is an "A."

I'm a little late on this one, but you either need to run more basic lands or less fetch land. Currently, you're running 8 fetch lands that can only fetch 4 targets. Also, for the hopeful amusement of some, I give you quotes from last night's MTG bread: 1) "It's time to start a little [Vampire] Nighthawk war" *30+ turns and 13 Nighthawks later...* "Did I say "little" Nighthawk war?" 2) Person A: "Oh ****, it's a Suntail Hawk, we should just surrender now." Person B: "That Suntail Hawk is dual-wielding Leonin Scimitars..." Person A: "That's a scary-*** Hawk!" 3) Person A: "So, are you gonna attack, or are you just surrendering?" Person B: "...It's your turn" Person A: "So, I heard a rumor that you're surrendering?" Person B: "...So, I heard a rumor that you like Mudkips"

| Justin, you have a lot of creature hate in that deck. I can understand that, but from what I can see, if they are running a low-creature deck, you basically have no win condition. Your life gain won't stall out a burn deck, and with Chancellor of the Dross as your only bombs, it'd be pretty easy to shut down, especially with all the new counterspells/bounces/exiles/destroys in New Phyrexia (I'm not kidding, I've looked through the card set 3x in the recent past. There's a ****-ton of control, and rarity won't be a factor in constructed). I would also nitpick about your use of Life's Finale. Phyrexian Rebirth sooms to be much better with your deck combination at the moment, just because of X/X horror. The 3 cards in the graveyard seems to be just a semi-control aspect for you. However, you're running a black-heavy deck to pay for the Chancellor of the Dross. Why not ditch the rebirths, add more swamps, run two more Life's Finales, and throw some fun graveyard cards in, instead? For example, you might consider: 1) Reassembling Skeleton2) Rise from the Grave3) Gruesome Oncore4) Postmortem LungeThis gives you the option of sending your own, handpicked cards to the graveyard to abuse, or to send you opponent's best creature down there so you can hit them over the head with it. The reassembling skeletons in particular combo well as chump blockers with Norn's Annex, Suture Priests, and Soul's Attendants (although I would take the latter out, the lifegain isn't helping you any except to offset a loss, and you could be running much better cards for that purpose, especially considering Infect). | |
