| Subject: General Video Game Chat 10/06/09, 03:27 pm | |
| Sooo...I noticed that we're making a bunch of different threads for each different thing we want to talk about, and that gets cluttered pretty fast (until Justin decides to carpet-bomb everything again =D). So I'm making this general thread for random chat about video games that people want to talk about, kind of like the Randomness thread in the General section, only, you know, with limits =p
I'll start:
So, I picked up Baaten Kaitos for the gamecube off my shelf yesterday night and decided to try and finish it up. Note that this is probably the 10th time I've done this, but I'd never found the next part of the story that would allow me to advance. Last night, I actually found it; turns out that little island labeled "Celestial Mountains" or whatever it is is actually important, and not just a speck of dust on my overland travel map! I would have facepalmed so hard if I'd not been in shock.
Buuut then I "remembered" why I hated that game in the first place. Extraordinary graphics, descent storyline, nice gameplay, but the boss battles...oh good GRIEF the boss battles! It took me TWO AND A HALF FREAKIN' HOURS to beat one boss battle. You'd think after a while the game would figure out that i'm not going to lose, but nooo, it wants me to stick around a wail aimlessly on the guy until he peels over dead after an hour of mind-numbing spamming.
To be fair, it was really two boss battles. The three boss enemies (fought together) show up and challenge you. You beat them. Then a cutscene. This has taken about 1 hour. Then you fight them AGAIN, and they're the EXACT SAME AS BEFORE, exept, of course, this time they have healing potions, so they add another half hour to the fight. I wanted to kill someone. Only the knowledge that I'd have to do it again if I left prematurely kept me through it. Simply aweful.

| So do I, but at the same time, I don't want to have to get it until I've beaten the first game though, and the first game makes me rage. I may have to skip all obvious "Side quest here!" signals and go straight to the boss before my patience wears out; just hope I can beat him/her/them, because if not I will rage so much harder | |

| It's very similar to the gameplay of Spiderman/Mirror's Edge/GTA with super powers. Plus death. Lots and lots of death. | |

Also, In This Thread, we post the games we own for next-gen systems in order we bought/received them! (e-peen off GO!)

Motorstorm Armored Core 4 TES IV: Oblivion Guitar Hero 3 Grand Theft Auto 4 Super Stardust HD Soul Calibur 4 Metal Gear Solid 4 Disgaea 3 Virtual Fighter 5 LittleBigPlanet Guitar Hero World Tour Valkyria Chronicles Fallout 3 Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection Devil May Cry 4 (There's also a Nascar game and a Madden game I think that are in the Living Room, but Im not counting those)
That's it!
Inb4 someone says they don't wanna go through their games much less remember when they got them.

| They...they nerfed Budger Blackpowder. Those...people over at Guild Wars headquarters nerfed Budger Blackpowder. The only mildly relaxing farm is now gone from my life! I'm falling just short of ragequitting to another MMORPG (no, not WoW; WoW is just as bad for grinding and nerfs, and don't try telling me otherwise).
As per Xander's Request:
Wii: -Wii Sports -Super Smash Brothers Brawl -Shrek III -Spider Man III -Fire Emblem: Radient Dawn -Wii Fit -DDR Hottest Party -Wii Play
Methinks that's all of them.

| Ryan gaming in general (hell, life in general), mainly the kind we enjoy is really just grinding for nothing and then somehow getting less and less adequate at the grind of it, for reasons we can't control.
But at least it isn't MapleStory, that's all I can say.
And I gotta say half of your games for the Wii are amazing, mainly Shrek 3.

\ Only a specific part of the agme where I'm trying to use a specific build that creates a phenominal amount of lag. - Quote :

Believe me, I won't. I think I'm reverting back to Ogre Battle 64 for a bit.
