Professor Nancy
Narcissism: It isn’t all bad
There are few people in this world that I can honestly say have affected me in some way. I could tell you that my parents affected me in tremendous ways; I could also tell you that my teachers have affected my personality drastically. However, I do not believe that any of those things apply to me. There is only one person who has had a profound effect on me, and I have only known her for one year now. Her name is Amanda.
Amanda is a very bizarre person when you first glance at her. She is short and stout. Her cheek bones are very high and she has humongous cheeks. She has short chocolate brown hair which often reminds me of a rich Hershey’s bar of dark chocolate, however since her hair is so thin you can hardly notice this color. Amanda has a piercing through her lower lip which causes her to have a slight lisp when she speaks, but be careful when talking to her this piercing can also cause her to spit uncontrollably when she speaks. Freckles shower over her lower face in a mask like pattern cover from one check to another.
Amanda is a very narcissistic person and consistently calls herself amazing. Although she has this dominate personality type she can also be full of love and compassion for her friends and family. She is an incredibly creative person and often shows it though her workings in web design and graphic design by grabbing ideas that most people couldn’t dream of and combine them with simple ideas so most people can wrap their minds around her astounding creativity.
She has influenced me greatly in the few years that I have known her. She has allowed me to realize that self confidence is a mindset not a state of being. This has helped me greatly since before last year I was considered legally depressed. Amanda has also taught me that many great things come in bizarre packages; she has shown me a point of view that I honestly didn’t even think of before I met her. She can brighten up any room just with her hyena style laugh. She can also bring everyone to her aid with a moment’s glance of sadness. I have never met anyone like this before in my life; everyone was set in stone, clichéd almost to the point of it being annoying, and regular.
Amanda has brought many great things into my life and she will hopefully continue to brighten the world with her ideas and her shining smile. She will become an amazing graphic designer and a superb person. She has unlimited potential and has begun to shed some of her personality onto me. This will surely be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

| The day was dark and the black clouds seemed to linger like the false sense of hope the dreary streets offered. In a dark ally off of main street, the soul of someone was about to be extinguished. His life blood was pouring onto the street like a steady trickling stream and he was not happy about it, however he could not scream out in terror nor could he even whisper. His assassin had thought ahead and cut his vocal cords out so he could not make a peep. The brilliant assailant also cut his hamstrings so he wasn’t going anywhere. The man thought to himself hoping that his family will be alright without him in their lives. Finally, the man passed out from massive blood loss. Her dagger soaked in blood, its thirst quenched, she stood and began to walk away until she remembered the very reason she had taken this man’s life. She wanted his soul. The soul would surly fetch a hefty price on the black market that’s for certain but she desired it for other reasons. If she were to collect 20 sparks she would be granted eternal life from the goddess of death herself. She drew her second weapon still having some chunks of the mans leg flesh on it. Her off handed weapon was a curvy purple sword. It hungered for the soul, and it began to draw all of the life blood out of the man. He “moaned” in pain as the blade sucked out all of the remaining blood in his system. Once its task was done the man’s corpse exploded into a fine yellow dust and where he once laid a golden orb sat. She grasped the soul orb and said aloud;
“One More to go…”
The assassin was a human female about 6 feet tall and was completely covered in black leather armor. She had a long black cap which draped down onto the ground behind her. She also had a belt which could hold many things from her weapons to powders and poisons.
She was growing ever more excided for her wish now that it was nearly in her grasp; however she needed to locate a target that had the correct golden soul, someone with kindness and love towards other humanoids. This would take time and she didn’t like the aspect of that. The search would have to wait for now though as she began to walk away she heard someone begin speaking, as if to her.
“And where do ye’ think yer going mi-lady?”
Startled she wiped around and saw a dwarf staring back at her battle axes ready. This dwarf was wearing a city guards armor, Covered from head to toe in plate mail. It was mostly the dull gray of metal buy in the center was a cloth area that had the cities crest on it. The Assassin was angered that she was caught; it wouldn’t have been much if it was a civilian but a city guard!
“Ye surly ain’t leavin’ this place are ye’? I thought we would have a little fun first, then I will take ya’ to the slammer!” The dwarf chuckled as he spoke, eagerly anticipating a difficult challenge in this women.
The assassin thought about any and all solutions to this dilemma and could only think of one outcome: this dwarf had to die!
She readied her weapons and hissed at her prey.
The dwarf said, seeming offended, “Ah, now ye should be nicer to a dwarf ya know missy that way I might bring you in in one piece!”
The dwarf charged at her with typical dwarven “finesse” and she dodged it with beautiful style and grace and stabbed at him with her dagger. The dwarf absorbed the blow as if it was nothing! Things did not look to good for her. The dwarf clearly wasn’t going to just let her get away easily and this walking iron wall would be nearly impossible to penetrate! The dwarf began to throw several volleys of pressing attacks at the female. She dodged all of them like it was nothing and began to launch an assault of her own at the study dwarf. All of her attacks were deflected off of his heavy plate mail. She was running out of options although this dwarf was easy to out run he could alert more people to her presence in the city. She needs to find a way to penetrate that armor of his. She saw several small openings in his suite where the joints of his body would be. She would slip her dagger in and try to stun this dwarf so she could take him out swiftly. The dwarf slashed at her ankle and drew blood out of the cut. She had never seen her own blood before and that would surly make a scar on her perfect body. This dwarf will pay with his life! She charged at him after parrying his axes and stabbed at the opening near his left arm pit. She managed to get into his flesh and began to dig her dagger into it, disabling his arm. The dwarf stumbled back and grabbed at his arm. He looked up at her and threw one of his axes at her. She caught it and dropped it on the ground. She slithered up to her latest victim. She reached into a small pouch on her hip and pulled out a small amount of dust and blew it into the dwarfs face before he could react to her approach. The dwarf immediately couldn’t move any muscle in his body. Her poison had worked and now she could harvest his soul. She drew her sword out and cut his neck wide open with it. The swords magic began to work as soon as it connected and drew his blood out of him. As he was dying he whispered his final words.
“Rot in the nine hells you bit…..”
He faded away and where he once stood a golden orb appeared. The assassin finally had all she needed to attain her ultimate goal. She would be the assassin that will stand the test of time. She would become the Aetas assassin, the assassin of time.

Aetas Assassin
The night was dark and calm as the black clouds lingered in the sky, blanketing the city streets in the darkness of false security. In a dark damp alley off of Main Street, the soul of someone was about to be extinguished. His lifeblood pouring into the street, like the flow of a steady trickling stream, and though he was not happy about it he could do nothing. He could not scream out his terror, he could not even whisper. His daring assassin had thought ahead, cutting out his vocal cords so he could not make a peep. Nor could he run, for the brilliant assailant had also cut his hamstrings, so he wasn’t going anywhere anytime soon. The man prayed that his family would survive without him. Finally, the poor man passed out from blood loss.
Her dagger soaked in the lifeblood of another, its thirst quenched. The assassin stood and began to walk away, before she remembered the very reason she had taken this man’s life. She had wanted his soul. This soul would surely fetch a hefty price on the black market, which was for certain. Her reasons were different though, if she were to collect 20 souls she would be granted eternal life from the goddess of death herself. She drew her second weapon; her off-handed weapon was a curvy purple sword. It hungered for the man’s soul, and began to draw all of the remaining life blood out of the man. Unconscious, he moaned in pain as the blade sucked out what remained of his blood and life. Once the blade’s task was done, the man’s corpse exploded into a fine silver dust, and where the man had once laid sat a golden orb. She grasped the soul orb and muttered aloud; “One more to go…” She turned revealing her thin black clad human form to the pale moonlight. Her long black cape swirled behind her as she left the place now covered in nothing but blood, her belt once more containing the tools of her trade. She was growing ever more excited for her wish now that it was nearly in her grasp. However, she needed to locate an allusive target, one that had the correct golden soul. A soul containing kindness and love towards other humanoids. This would take time, an annoying fact. The search would have to wait for now though. As she began to walk away from the alley she heard someone start speaking, as if to her. “And where do ye’ think yer going mi-lady?” Startled, she whipped around and saw a dwarf staring back at her, battle axes ready. This dwarf was wearing a city guard's armor, covered from head to toe in plate mail. It was mostly the dull gray of metal, but in the center was a cloth area that had the city's crest on it. The Assassin was angered that she had been caught; it wouldn’t have been much if it was a civilian, but a city guard? “Ye surely ain’t leavin’ this place are ye’? I thought we would have a little fun first, then I will take ya’ to the slammer!” The dwarf chuckled as he spoke, eagerly anticipating a difficult challenge in this woman. The assassin thought about any and all solutions to this dilemma, and could only think of one, well one she liked, outcome: The dwarf would die. She readied her weapons happily hissing at her prey. The dwarf spoke sarcastically, seeming offended, “Ah, now ye should be nicer to a dwarf. Ya know missy, that way I might bring you in, in one piece!” The dwarf charged at her with typical dwarven finesse, as in none; she dodged it with the beautiful style and grace of an assassin, and stabbed him with her dagger. The dwarf absorbed the blow as if it were nothing! Things were going from interesting to dangerous. The dwarf clearly wasn’t going to just let her get away easily, and this walking iron wall would be nearly impossible to penetrate! The dwarf began to throw several volleys of pressing attacks at the female. She dodged all of them like it was nothing, though she was starting to break a sweet, as began to launch an assault of her own at the study dwarf.
All of her attacks were deflected off of his heavy plate mail, this was getting dangerous. She was running out of options - although this dwarf was easy to out-run he could alert more people to her presence in the city. She needed to find a way to penetrate that blasted armor of his. Looking she saw several small openings in his suite, where the joints of his body had to be. She could slip her dagger in and try to stun the dwarf so she could take him out swiftly.
The dwarf slashed at her ankle, drawing blood. Was that blood? She didn’t bleed, however that would scar her perfect body! This dwarf is going to die! She charged at him, parrying his axes and stabbed at the opening near his left arm pit. Managing to get into his flesh, she began to dig her dagger in, disabling his arm.
The dwarf stumbled back, grabbing his arm. Looking up at her, he threw one of his axes at her. She caught it, dropping it on the ground. She slithered up to her latest victim. Reaching into a small pouch on her hip she pulled out a small amount of dust and blew it into the dwarf's face before he could react to her approach. The dwarf immediately couldn’t move any muscle in his body.
Her poison had worked and now she could harvest his soul, finally. She drew her sword out cutting his neck wide open with it. The swords magic began to work as soon as it connected and drew his blood out of him. As he was dying he whispered his final words. “Rot in the nine hells you demon…..” He faded away, and where he once stood a golden orb appeared. The assassin finally had all she needed to attain her ultimate goal. She would be the assassin that will stand the test of time. She would become the Aetas assassin, the Assassin of Time.

Anselm's Ontological argument
In this philosophy paper, I will be discussing Saint Anselm's Ontological argument. Saint Anselm begins by laying out the definition of God in his first premise, that God is “something than which nothing greater can be thought.” He continues by saying that something than which nothing greater can be thought exists in the mind, and it is better to exist in the mind and in reality than in the mind alone. Now, suppose that God Exist in the mind and not in reality. If this were true, then God would not be something than which nothing greater can be thought. God would therefore be something than which nothing greater can be thought and something greater than God can be thought. This, however, is absurd. Therefore, God must exist in the mind and in reality.
Anselm's argument is valid, but I believe it to be unsound. Namely, I he is wrong in his third premise, that it is better to exist in the mind and in reality than in the mind alone. I find there to be several logical flaws with that premise. If a concept does not exist in reality, it does not make it any less good. A lack of existence does not imply a lack of goodness, but merely a lack of reality. It is possible to conceive of a God of which nothing greater can be thought, but conceiving something in the mind is entirely independent of its reality; to conceptualize something is to say “If this thing exists, then it will have these properties.” In this case, if Anselm's God existed, then it would have to have the property of existence, among other things. This leads directly to my second objection: that Anselm has committed the fallacy of circular logic. From his definition of God, Anselm derives that such a God must exist in reality, therefore God exists in reality. Although the argument, under some loose definitions, may be considered valid, the conclusion is self-perpetuating, and therefore unsound.
